Physical Efficiency
The PET assesses a candidate’s physical fitness through various activities such as running, long jump, and high jump. This stage is crucial as it evaluates the applicant’s endurance, agility, and overall physical capability. The details of the PET are summarized in the table below.

HP Police Constable Application Fee 2026
Before submitting their application forms, candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs. 600. Fee must be paid online via Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or other digital modes. Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination.

HPPSC Police Constable Selection Process 2026
The eligible candidates who will be applying for the post of Constable have to go through a multi-stage selection process that will include the following stages.
- Physical Test: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department.
- Written Test: Offline multiple-choice objective examination of 2 hours’ duration, 90 marks, with negative marking, conducted by HPPSC.
- Document Verification: Carried out by the Police Department, including the award of NCC certificate marks.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by the Police Department after HPPSC recommendations.
HP Police Constable Exam Pattern 2026
- The HP Police Constable written test is an objective-type exam for 90 marks.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks
- The duration of the exam is 2 hours
- There shall be 90 questions for 90 marks.
